The Maryland Aerospace Alliance (MAA) advocates for Maryland as the premier location for aerospace talent, resources and opportunity. Incorporated in 2024 as a 501(c)(4), the MAA has its roots in over two decades of advocacy for the growth and health of the industry across the state of Maryland. From Patuxent River to Greenbelt, from Indian Head to Laurel, and from Anne Arundel County to Montgomery County – our state has exceptional capabilities, talent, and facilities supporting aviation and space services and technologies. Together, we will secure, enrich, and grow our Maryland Aerospace Industry.

Industry Needs and Business Facilitation
MAA is committed to addressing the needs of the aerospace industry by making it easier for both large and small businesses to operate in Maryland. This includes advocating for policies that support business growth and creating an environment conducive to innovation and collaboration. MAA promotes Maryland State assets – facilities, capabilities, workforce – across all interested public and private sector entities.

Advocacy and Legislative Engagement
MAA takes an active role in the legislative environment at both the state and federal levels. The organization highlights the aerospace industry’s needs to policymakers, driving investment and support for the sector across Maryland. This proactive advocacy ensures that the industry’s interests are well-represented and that necessary resources and support are secured.

Bridging Industry Segments
MAA is unique in its focus on bridging gaps between different segments of the aerospace industry. By fostering communication and collaboration among sectors that do not always actively engage with each other, MAA creates a more cohesive and united industry front. This holistic approach enhances the overall strength and competitiveness of Maryland’s aerospace sector.

Education and Workforce Development

MAA recognizes the critical need for a robust workforce pipeline. MAA ensures that colleges and universities have the platforms and support needed to advance aerospace education and research that aligns with the needs of the public and private sector aerospace and aviation employers.

Accomplishments & Initiatives

Creation of the Maryland Aerospace & Technology Commission
Met with 50+ Maryland State Legislators during the 2024 Maryland Legislative Session
Won $50,000 in Grants in first year of incorporation
Established collaborative relationships with chambers of commerce and economic development organizations state-wide
